As a blog publisher or a website owner, your number one concern should be with thinking of ways to get traffic to your site. You should also be thinking of ways to get visitors to come back. You do not want them to reach your site and then never come back. The three ways that you can get people to your site is through search engines, other sites that will refer people to your site or through people that come directly to your site.
Search engines are a great way to get traffic, but building your rankings in the search engines can take a long time. You must be extremely good at search engine optimization (SEO) to get your blog ranked well in a short amount of time. You also have to write content and keep on writing content on popular subjects that people will search for on the internet.
Keeping your visitors coming back to your site directly can be one of the most daunting tasks, but if you are successful at this, it’s a great way to earn traffic. People who visit your site directly are such a great source of traffic because it eliminates the need for people to seek you out through search engines, and as I said before, getting yourself ranked well in the search engines can be a very difficult and frustrating task. You can get visitors directly to your site by enticing people to subscribe to a newsletter.
Referral traffic is another great source of visits because like direct traffic, it does not rely on the need for people to find your site through search engines. The way that you can get people to link to your site is by writing great content that people want to link to. Another great way to get referral traffic is by offering a giveaway and put it on giveaway linky’s. This is what I would really like to tell you about.
A giveaway is different than a sweepstakes because it is usually sponsored by a blog or website owner and is of low monetary value. For example, many blog and website owners offer a giveaway of a $25 gas card. These website and blog owners who offer the giveaways then go onto different websites and blogs that have giveaway linky’s (list of giveaways around the blogosphere) and post the giveaways on the linky’s. Thousands upon thousands of people daily that are looking for giveaways enter these blog/website giveaways and subsequently your referral traffic can grow by a nice amount. Your referral traffic will grow because your giveaway on these giveaway linky’s will link to your site, and when people click your giveaway on these lists, the people will get forwarded to your site.
Like I said at the top of the page, there is a giveaway linky below, so if you have a giveaway that you would like to promote, please enter it below. If you would like even more promotion, contact me and I will tell you some of my cheap advertising rates.
